The storms of unwanted experiences come first in our thoughts. Then we enhance them by adding lightening with our words and thunder with our reactions.
If we solely rely on our rational minds when the unexpected happens we let our emotions get the best of us. When we are in reactive mode, we can liken ourselves to a pilot flying through a storm not using the instruments available.
Panic is often triggered when we are unable to handle our thoughts of “what if” increasing our stress, worry, anxiety and fear. When you are approaching panic mode, stop long enough to refocus your thoughts, breathe deeply and calmly whisper this too shall pass.
